Following last year’s brilliantly brooding synth-pop number and RotD Go All Out, London-based artist Salt Ashes is back with this minimal and airy synth number. Written with singer-songwriter Jon Allen during a studio session where they both ended up counselling each other about past relationships, Don’t is the emotionally charged anti-love song outcome of their time writing together. With a lighter feel than her previous releases, Salt Ashes’ luscious vocals again take centre stage amidst a sparse and downtempo production interspersed with warm synth melodies. Co-produced by Salt Ashes herself and Jonny Coote, the track has so far garnered tastemaker support from the likes of Born Music, Happy magazine and Nexus Radio in the US to add to her list of admirers, including the Line of Best Fit, The Guardian, Wonderland and Noisey. – Record of the Day

Both singles were heavily supported by Spotify and appeared on playlists like Spotify’s UK/Italy Viral 50, The Pop List, and New Music Friday playlists – leading to over 400,000 streams.
