Radikal Records Presents Tune In Crew “Don’t Go Go”

Vibe

We are proud to announce the newest signees to Radikal Records, the French production duo TUNE IN CREW with their release of “Don’t Go Go” premiered exclusively on VIBE today!

Here’s what the two brothers Harry & Xavier had to say about the release:

“With “Don’t Go Go”, the aim has been to create a wrapping atmosphere that is as smooth as it is strong. We feel this song singularly makes for a great introduction into our musical universe for newcomers, as it is quite representative of the exploration between electronic and organic, old and new, of simplicity and cultural diversity, all central to our approach. We hope you’ll get the sense of joy we had while creating this piece, that sunny something made of rhythm and harmony… Be our guest!”

Brothers from Strasbourg – France, HARRY VEYNAND & XAVIER VEYNAND have long been part of an indeed temporal, thus progressive approach to shaping the spirit of discovery and critical thinking: whether it was during their university education, or through their learning of musical instruments, until their first steps creating music, leading to the assertion of their singularity as artists and music producers duo “TUNE IN CREW”

With awareness of the reality that any artist is beneficiary and partially tributary of already existing creations, they dare the boldness, they dare to take the risk in exploring new forms. Each track is experienced as a search to bring out a new relevance, attentive not to fall into trivializing. It is driven by a will to experiment, with humility and joy, between caution, confidence, and requirement. Given what they have lived, listened to, read, learned and thought -all the more in a time of acute conformism, while the world is truly, more than ever opened up- the 2 brothers find meaning in a music rich of its high diversity.

Indeed, from sunny and warm Caribbean, Oriental and Latin influences, to the edge of modern electronic synths, and with a subtle touch of soulful American music, TUNE IN CREW’s sound is a story of surprising balance, of breath, making for a lively and game-changing kind of Pop music. Having in mind and at heart that “Music has, quite particularly, the prestige of both the unity and the otherness” (M. Edwards), Harry and Xavier embraced that music contributes to the future, as a sketch, binding the individual and collective level, and that is also why music has an inherent political nature.

For this reason, they didn’t hesitate to build tracks around political speeches in their country, in favor of a greater, revalued democratic participation. This outlines the aspiration to add to the already existing free spaces, and be one of these cases which incite to the creative courage: this very confidence towards the unknown.

TUNE IN CREW puts front-and-center… “La joie de vivre”!

Notable Dance Picks Salt Ashes As Song Of The Day

Notable Dance

Shout out to our friends at Notable Dance whom picked Salt Ashes’ “Somebody” as their track of the day! Here’s what DJ Ron Slomowicz had to say about the single:

“Imagine Kate Bush doing a dark synth-pop cover of Depeche Mode’s “Black Celebration,” and you have the initial buzz single of Veiga Sanchez (a/k/a Salt Ashes). For the “official” debut comes “Somebody,” a slick-yet-moody downtempo electronic record with the feel of a New Order side project – maybe Revenge or Electronic. The comparisons to Kate Bush are obvious, but there’s a hint of a Natalia Kills noir in there that gives it an even darker, angelic vibe. While not exactly club-ready, the Cruelty remix adds a new beat with a kind of RAC-meets-DFA vibe. With her unique and ethereal (yet powerful) voice, I imagine that there will be some strong DJ/Producer collabs coming soon.”

Bombs Away's "Better Luck Next Time" Featured On DJZ

DJZ Bombs Away

Shout out to our friends at DJZ.com for featuring Bombs Away’s latest single “Better Luck Next Time.” Here’s what they had to say about it:

ARIA-nominated production duo Bombs Away have unleashed their fiery new single “Better Luck Next Time”, along with a slew of remixes from the likes of Reece Low, Party Favor, and Joel Fletcher.

All the producers featured on the remix package take “Better Luck Next Time” into completely different directions, whether it be moombahton, trap, electro viagra england house, or progressive house. Both Reece Low and Party Favor add a trap twist to the original, but in their own unique ways. Reece Low takes the more subtle approach, with the track gradually building up to an unsuspecting tasty trap beat. Party Favor, on the other hand, kickstarts the remix with hi-hat triple

The single along with the remix package is available on Beatport and iTunes.

Radikal Joins A2iM on Global Trade Missions

brazil photo

We are proud to announce that Radikal was able to participate on the A2iM led global trade missions. For the first time, the American government funded a trips around Asia and Brazil to help further the exportation of US music. $300,000 was granted to A2iM, and dozens of labels were chosen to participate in these trade missions. Radikal Records and other EDM labels such as Ultra were fortunate enough to be able to travel across the world, and communicate with very optimistic local distributors, mobile-phone carriers, booking agents and ad agencies.

Labels who participated are already seeing licensing and distrubtion deals from visiting parts of Asia and Latin America, which could generate hundreds of thousands of dollars per year. Rich Bengloff says these deals can “represent as much as a quarter of a small independent label’s revenue.” According to a Bloomberg TV report, A2iM estimates these projects will generate $45M a year. You can watch the Bloomberg TV report here.

With EDM becoming a dominating force in the music industry, it’s pleasing to see efforts made to further expand the awareness and exportation of American music all over the world.

You can read the full story about the A2IM trade missions here.

Throwback Thursday: RMB – “Deep Down Below”

interview-keys_001

Today’s throwback Radikal track of the day is “Deep Down Below” by RMB with vocals from Christina Lux. The single was released under Radikal Records in 2001. This is sure to bring out the chills in most of us, feelings of nostalgia, or entranced in the beauty of the track.

Here’s a little fun fact for you, RMB stands for Rolf Maier-Bode, one half of the German electronic music band. The other half is Farid Gharadjedaghi, they both met while working together at the label Adam & Eve, and decided to make music full time, leaving the label to join Low Spirit, under which they released “Spring” which went gold in Germany.

Take a listen and enjoy the rest of your evening!
