Slop Rock & Whiskey Pete – Super Dope

slop rock - super dope

“Super Dope” is an explosive collaboration between up and coming Aussie DJ/production duo, Slop Rock, and US MC Whiskey Pete. The “Super Dope” single package includes several remixes and edits and is scheduled for release on iTunes and Beatport on April 23rd.

Slop Rock has become serious contenders in the Australian club scene over the past 12 months. Off the back of their last two club hits “Revolution” and “Hero” comes the equally epically titled “Super Dope.” This time they team up with US MC, Whiskey Pete, a voice many would recognize from his work with TJR, Sue Cho, DJ Bam Bam and Figure. The original mix has a cheeky and filthy synth hook over booming bass kicks. Gigi Barocco (fresh off his work with the Bloody Beetroots) has produced the kind of epic electro slammer that would make Feed Me want to hang up his hat and call it a day. Apocolyto and Heath Renata have each issued mandatory dance orders with their unique main room interpretations. Finally, Wellsaid and Rubberteeth have the jacking alternative for house music purists.

Ayah Marar – Go Hard

ayah marar - go hard

Ayah Marar’s debut album “The Real,” released in the UK last year, has propelled her to the forefront of the bass music scene. Championed by the likes of Q Magazine (four stars), Dazed Digital, Vibe, Mixmag, Timeout and The Sun who have labelled her the “Queen Of Bass,” it’s clear that Ayah’s army of supporters is ever growing.

Now for the first time, Ayah will see her latest single “Go Hard” released in the US and Canada via Radikal Records. The single is available on iTunes and the Radikal website today. The single is accompanied by two remixes from Destro and Ellington and coincides with the debut of a band new, action packed, superhero-esque animated music video.

“Go Hard” should serve as a terrific introduction for Ayah to EDM music fans all over the North American continent, with more singles and a full release of “The Real” to come in the summer of 2013 via Radikal Records.

Ayah isn’t one to shy away from her love for the club and admits that raving is engraved in her soul. “Go Hard” pays homage to her dance floor roots and its bashy, bold nature oozes with the Jordan-born girl’s infectious attitude. Featuring close friend and fellow tour companion Illaman, “Go Hard” is packed with buoyant percussion and a sensually smooth bassline.

Apollo 440 – The Future’s What It Used To Be

apollo440thefuture600

Apollo 440 burst onto the electronic music scene in the late 90s with their first release, “Electro Glide in Blue.” The leading single from that album, “Ain’t Talkin’ ‘bout Dub,” which sampled an iconic Van Halen guitar riff and mixed it with drum and bass elements, reached #7 on the UK singles charts. Two years later, their next single “Stop the Rock,” a blues rock anthem infused with elements of dub and ambient, went to #10 on the UK singles charts and was also featured in the FIFA 2000 video game for Playstation and the American film “Gone in 60 Seconds.” Apollo 440’s aggressive, rock-inspired brand of electronica became widely popular. Along with contemporaries Prodigy and The Chemical Brothers, Apollo 440 helped to pioneer a new genre that would later lead the emergence of dub step.

Apollo 440 now returns with the release of their fifth studio album, “The Future’s What It Used To Be.” The album is the first from the group in almost 10 years, but Apollo 440 pick up right where they left off, with a package that’s full of the same kind of high energy, dub-infused electro-rock anthems that made them famous earlier in their career. The lead single from the collection, “A Deeper Dub,” is a reworking of the C + C Music Factory’s single “A Deeper Love” and harbors an infectious beat and a captivating chorus similar to past Apollo 440 hits.
