wideboys -addicted 2 the bass

Wideboys have long established themselves as a powerful force in the realm of British House, Bassline and UK Garage electronic music. Prolific and world-renowned, they’ve done official remixes for the biggest names in pop, from Rihanna, to Kanye West to Lady Gaga, and have had achieved tremendous success with original productions as well.

To celebrate selling 1 million copies of their compilation series on Ministry of Sound and for gaining a brand new time slot for their weekly Kiss Fm Show, the Wideboys decided it was time to re-release and rework their club smash from last year “Addicted 2 The Bass,” adding an almighty set of remixes. Enlisting the international production talent of Lazy Rich, Nick Thayer (Owsla), Timothy Allan & Loverush, UK garage dons, Sunship, and one of drum and bass’s shining stars, Tantrum Desire, to help hurt some speakers, things are about to get even louder.

“After a Soundcloud remix competition attracted entries from over 50 countries, it seemed we had something people were connecting with on a different level. In the process we unearthed some major emerging talent from dubstep to underground speed garage with the winners being added to the re-release package.” – The Wideboys

Slop Rock & Whiskey Pete – Super Dope

slop rock - super dope

“Super Dope” is an explosive collaboration between up and coming Aussie DJ/production duo, Slop Rock, and US MC Whiskey Pete. The “Super Dope” single package includes several remixes and edits and is scheduled for release on iTunes and Beatport on April 23rd.

Slop Rock has become serious contenders in the Australian club scene over the past 12 months. Off the back of their last two club hits “Revolution” and “Hero” comes the equally epically titled “Super Dope.” This time they team up with US MC, Whiskey Pete, a voice many would recognize from his work with TJR, Sue Cho, DJ Bam Bam and Figure. The original mix has a cheeky and filthy synth hook over booming bass kicks. Gigi Barocco (fresh off his work with the Bloody Beetroots) has produced the kind of epic electro slammer that would make Feed Me want to hang up his hat and call it a day. Apocolyto and Heath Renata have each issued mandatory dance orders with their unique main room interpretations. Finally, Wellsaid and Rubberteeth have the jacking alternative for house music purists.

Djs From Mars – Phat Ass Drop (How To Produce A Club Track Today)

phat ass drop cover 600

Italian DJ pranksters, DJs From Mars, are back at it again with their latest single, “Phat Ass Drop (How To Produce A Club Track Today).” The single will officially be released in the USA by Radikal Records on February 5th. It is available prior to release from the Radikal Records website at www.radikal.com.

In a world where anyone can download music production software and proclaim themselves a DJ, and so called top-talent mixers seem to rely more on formulas and computers than real creativity, the stage has been set for a little criticism. Enter DJs From Mars with “Phat Ass Drop”: a fun electrohouse club track that also serves as a tongue in cheek “how to” instructional video and a satirical critique of current state of EDM.

The track starts off with an electronic voice saying, “How to produce a club track today. Just follow the instructions and you’ll be an electronic music producer in no time.” The song continues with step-by-step instructions, demonstrating every cliché of big room club tracks (military drums, random loop, claps, crash).

The music video for the song adds a very clever visual element. Chock-full of inside jokes and references, “Phat Ass Drop” is a must-watch treat for DJs, web nerds and productions freaks.

mars_itunes

Radikal Records announces the release of “Insane (In Da Brain)” by DJs From Mars Featuring Fragma. Since its debut, the single and its accompanying music video has become a viral sensation, paying homage to the best videos in pop culture and dance music like Benny Benassi, 50 Cent, Bruno Mars, and The Chemical Brothers.

DJ’s From Mars have become one of the biggest “bootleg” acts in the business. Their ability to create genre-bending hits can be directly attributed to their diverse collaborations. Since emerging on the scene in 2004 they have remixed songs from everyone from Adele to Nirvana. Following their 2008 single “Who Gives A Fuck About Deejays”, “Insane (In Da Brain)” further solidifies their place as one of the biggest acts in dance music.

Fragma is a German dance project that was founded in 1998 by brothers Marco and Dirk Duderstadt and Producer Ramon Zenker. The group added German vocalist Damae Klein and recorded their first break-out single “Toca Me” in 2000. Fragma went on to produce “Toca’s Miracle” which became one of the biggest mash up tracks in dance music. The group continued their success with chart topping singles like “Embrace Me”, and “You Are Alive”. Marco & Dirk Duderstadt have diversified their sound across multiple genres. Under the moniker Duderstadt, the duo became acclaimed trance producers, creating cutting edge tracks that are supported by the biggest names in the industry. As Inpetto, the duo shifted towards a progressive house sound, remixing for the likes of Jerry Ropero and Cosmic Gate.

With the single “Insane (In Da Brain)” Fragma and Damae are ready to dominate the dance-floor once again through their collaboration with DJs From Mars. Gabry Ponte delivers a mix with pop sensibility while DJ Erro transforms the single with a dubstep remix. Production duo Rico Bernasconi & Max Farenthide bring a deeper, progressive house mix and additional remixers include Muttonheads, DB Pure, The Coolbreezers, and DJ Ross & Anthony Viale.
