Great Adamz, Maddox Jones and DJ Manuel Riva Release “Letting Go”
Great Adamz teams up with previous collaborators Maddox Jones and Romanian DJ Manuel Riva to bring you the emotional new track “Letting Go”, out today, Thursday, October 29th via Radikal Records. Great’s previous collabs with Maddox (“Body & Soul”) and Manuel (“Shake”, “Umada”) all hit #1 on Music Week’s Black Music chart, and the label-mates’ chemistry continues to shine on this release with heartfelt duet vocals blending seamlessly with lush deep house productions.
Produced by Manuel Riva, Great Adamz and Maddox Jones take turns singing confessionals about relationships gone sour. The two singers observe the difference in behavior in their respective partners, then find themselves reflecting deeply on what went wrong. The two come to the realization that they would rather part ways with their significant others than completely lose themselves in their relationships. While the track feels somewhat uptempo and could find itself on numerous club playlists, the mood set by the melancholic synth layers and afrobeat-inspired rhythms complement the emotional depth of the song. Two tracks accompany the main mix’s release; the ‘Extended Mix’ allows the somber music soundscape created by Manuel Riva to shine on its own with a percussion-only outro, while the ‘Manuel Riva Remix’ gives the track an electro house refresh that feels inspired by the nightlife of Ibiza.

Born Great Adamatie in Warri, Delta State, Nigeria, Great Adamz has been making waves in the UK music scene with his signature Afrobeat sound and captivating vocal style. His talent and dedication have earned him accolades such as the Golden Star Artist of the Year (Diaspora) and the DAC Special Recognition Award in Music, recognizing his outstanding contribution to Afrobeat music and the wider diaspora community. This year, Great Adamz landed back-to-back No.1 spots on Music Week’s Black Music Chart with “Umada” and “Shake”, his two collaborations with Romanian producer and Radikal Records labelmate, Manuel Riva.
The rising Afrobeat star is also part of the MOBO Awards alumni, having joined the prestigious MOBO Unsung Class of 2022, where he collaborated on a collective album and toured alongside artists including Crae Wolf and Zitah. Adamz and Crae Wolf later went on to create ‘Kilon So’, alongside Nigerian rap legend Erigga, which remains one of Adamz’s biggest records to date.
In 2025, Adamz dropped the 18-track deluxe version of his debut album, Blessed Boy, a celebration of life’s journey, embracing the ongoing conflict of blessings and daily challenges. Upon its original release the album soared to #2 on the iTunes Nigeria Charts and has amassed well over 6.5 million Streams, with 4.35 million on Audiomack and 2 million on Spotify alone.
“Letting Go” becomes another addition to Maddox Jones’ vast catalog. Having first found success as frontman of The Departure, earning four UK Top 40 singles and sharing stages with artists including The Killers and Placebo, Maddox burst onto the scene as a solo artist in 2020 with the critically acclaimed EP, ‘Headspace’, the EP reached #4 in the iTunes Singer-Songwriter chart. The follow-up 2021 single, ‘Can’t Wait for the Summer’ followed suit, hitting the top spot on the same chart.
Tipped as One to Watch by BBC Introducing Northampton, Maddox has garnered further acclaim across the industry, earning a spot at #5 on Music Week’s Commercial Pop and Upfront Club Chart with ‘Make Me Yours’ off his debut album ‘Believe It’ and his recent #1 on the Music Week Black Music Club Chart with Great Adamz on ‘Body & Soul’, ending 2025 on a high note. Never afraid to cross genres, ‘Somebody Like You’ sees Maddox fully embrace the world of contemporary dance music while retaining the emotional songwriting that has become his trademark.
