Salt Ashes Releases Official Remixes for Latest Single, “Stains”
London-based singer-songwriter, Salt Ashes supports latest release, “Stains” with an official remix package featuring new mixes from Bimbo Jones and Journey By A DJ.
With over 90 #1’s across the US and UK, Bimbo Jones (AKA Marc JB & Lee Dagger) are legendary remixers/producers. No strangers to remixing Salt Ashes music, the duo creates a groove-heavy disco house mix on “Stains” reminiscent of Salt Ashes early discography, and perfect for the dancefloor.
The second remix is provided by Journey By A DJ, a new member of top UK production team Audiofreaks. They continue to make a name for themselves in the remix scene with their fresh tech house mix of the original record, pushing the dark alt-pop sounds of “Stains” to new heights.
“Stains” was originally produced and mixed by Louis Souyave, who collaborated with Salt Ashes on her 2021 sophomore album Killing My Mind, along with her most recent single, “Heart Attack”. The two artists’ chemistry in the studio is on full display, as Souyave weaves Salt Ashes vocals through swells of strings, synths and electronic percussion to an emotional and soulful peak over a wall of hard-hitting guitars.
A slight change of pace from her recent dance and electro pop tracks, “Stains” sees Salt Ashes expertly balancing pop sensibility with an alternative edge, as she powerfully delivers the lyrics message of self-reflection and the need to push yourself forward from the pains of the past.
“Stains is a very personal song that I wrote to myself. It’s a song about helping yourself overcome previous pain or trauma and actually asking and allowing yourself to heal, because only you can do that.” – Salt Ashes
