Maddox Jones Anthemic New Single ‘England Together’, Announces Music Video Featuring England Football Legend Stuart Pearce
Northampton’s rising star, Maddox Jones, is re-entering the limelight with the uplifting football anthem, ‘England Together’ released on June 7th via Radikal Records. As anticipation for England’s Euros 2024 Campaign builds, the euphoric track serves as a celebratory echo of the team, sparking a national call for unity and hope and heightens anticipation for his upcoming second album, slated for release later this year.
Led by a fusion of triumphant brass, sing-along lyrics and vocal chants, ‘England Together’ pays homage to the victorious spirit of previous football anthems with a raucous indie-rock twist. Written based on an idea from Paul Rumens (Ex President of National League Wealdstone FC), the single is inspired by Maddox’s passion for the sport. Recorded at Plastic Tree Studios, Northampton alongside producer Dave Crawford, the hit aims to unify the nation with a message of inclusiveness and togetherness – inviting listeners to join the cause and reminding them that they are not alone.

The single is accompanied by a heartwarming music video, beginning with a young boy kicking his newly gifted football over a garden wall – the iconic Slazenger 25 World Cup 66 ball, nodding to England’s historic win. It then sets out on a journey through the country, meeting fans along the way, including England legend and former captain Stuart Pearce, who perfectly embodies the nation’s bull-dog spirit.

He’s had a track record of electrifying performances alongside notable acts like Thomas Heaton, Beaux, and The Lottery Winners & Lemar. This fall Maddox Jones is slated to open on a large portion of Will Young’s comeback tour across the UK.
Having burst onto the scene as a solo artist in 2020 with the critically acclaimed EP, ‘Headspace’, the EP reached #4 in the iTunes Singer-Songwriter chart. The follow-up 2021 single, ‘Can’t Wait for the Summer’ followed suit, hitting the top spot on the same chart. Tipped as One to Watch by BBC Introducing Northampton, Maddox has garnered further acclaim across the industry, earning a spot at #5 on Music Week’s Commercial Pop and Upfront Club Chart with ‘Make Me Yours’ off his debut album “Believe It”.
In 2023, Jones released ‘We All Need Somebody’ in support of Mental Health Awareness, a topic near and dear to his heart. Mixed by Michael Brauer (Coldplay) and mastered by Joe LaPorta (Miley Cyrus), the track was inspired by and resonated strongly with the many thousands of students he’s met giving motivational speeches and performances at schools all over the United Kingdom.
His most recent Single was “Change My Number” released earlier in 2024 which has seen great support from UK Indie Radio. Beyond his recording endeavors, Maddox has been sought after as a collaborator, lending his songwriting prowess to fellow artists such as Billy Locket, Janet Devlin, Great Adamz, and RIP Youth.
Amidst a whirlwind of touring triumphs and accolades, including the title of Songwriter of the Year (Northamptonshire Local Music Awards), Maddox has been busy crafting his highly anticipated sophomore album. Following the success of previous single, ‘Change My Number’, the upcoming offering promises to be his most raw, urgent work to date.
