Maddox Jones to Support Lucy Spraggan on UK Acoustic Tour
Northampton singer-songwriter Maddox Jones has been announced as the official support act for Lucy Spraggan on her intimate acoustic UK tour this March and April. The highly anticipated run of shows will see Maddox bring his heartfelt storytelling and captivating live presence to audiences across the country, setting the stage for Lucy’s much-loved folk and indie-pop sound.
Following the release of his critically acclaimed sophomore album, ‘Waiting for the World to Turn’, and fresh off the back of an incredible run opening for pop icon Will Young on his UK comeback tour, Maddox is set to bring his emotive storytelling and signature blend of indie rock, pop, and soul influences to Lucy’s devoted audiences across the country. The tour will take Maddox to some of the UK’s most beloved venues, including London’s iconic Union Chapel, Edinburgh’s Queen’s Hall, and the O2 Academy in Oxford.
Coinciding with the tour Maddox’s label Radikal Records will be releasing an Extended Edition of his recent album entitled “Still Waiting for the World to Turn” with a handful of additional songs, brand new recordings and previously unreleased on a album fan favorite “We All Need Somebody”. A brand new version of “21” recorded in Nashville will be released as a Single on all digital platforms and will also be part of this very Special digital only album.
Excited to join Lucy on the road, Maddox says, “There’s nothing quite like playing live and connecting with the audience, this is one of the main reasons I make music. I can’t wait to perform to Lucy’s fans as I’m a massive fan of her music and I hear her fans are great too!”
The former X-Factor star, Lucy Spraggan, known for her emotive songwriting and distinctive sound, embarks on this special acoustic tour to coincide with her newly released single ‘Other Sides of the Moon’, with a full studio album scheduled for 2025. The tour will showcase a mix of fresh material and beloved hits from her impressive 15-year career, during which she has amassed 150 million Spotify streams and collaborated with Robbie Williams on a striking duet of her song ‘Sober’.
Maddox enjoyed early success with The Departure, securing four Top 40 hits, sharing the stage with iconic bands such as The Killers and Placebo, and playing prestigious festivals like Reading & Leeds and Glastonbury. Maddox has a track record of electrifying performances alongside notable acts like Thomas Heaton, Beaux, The Lottery Winners, and Lemar. Having burst onto the scene as a solo artist in 2020 with the critically acclaimed EP, ‘Headspace’, the EP reached #4 in the iTunes Singer-Songwriter chart. The follow-up 2021 single, ‘Can’t Wait for the Summer’ followed suit, hitting the top spot on the same chart. Tipped as One to Watch by BBC Introducing Northampton, Maddox has garnered further acclaim across the industry, earning a spot at #5 on Music Week’s Commercial Pop and Upfront Club Chart with ‘Make Me Yours’ off his debut album ‘Believe It’.
