Bombs Away Drop New Remix of Maddox Jones Lead Single “Headspace”
Maddox Jones teams up with Australian DJ sensations Bombs Away for a remix of “Headspace”, lead-single off his debut EP
Released on July 10th, Headspace EP is the 5-track debut from British singer-songwriter, Maddox Jones. Receiving praise from the likes of SPIN, American Songwriter, BBC and iHeart Radio, the EP climbed its way to #4 on the iTunes UK Singer/songwriter chart and showcases Jones as one of the most exciting emerging artists of the year.
In support of the new EP, ARIA award nominated multi-platinum selling DJs Bombs Away teamed up with Jones to deliver a new mix of lead single and title track, “Headspace”. With their remix the internationally recognized Australian duo transform Jones’ hypnotic synth-washed pop number into an epic dance-floor ready banger, and helped “Headspace” hit #11 on Music Week’s Commercial Pop Chart.
Written by Jones and recorded and produced in a single day with close friend and producer Dave Crawford, “Headspace” sets the tone for the EP as the opening track.
“It’s a song that kept me company in the dead of night when I was used to sleeping next to somebody and found myself alone. It can force you to take a proper look at yourself when you only have yourself for company. I wonder if maybe lots of people might be feeling a bit like this right now, if they’re isolating alone in this pandemic. It’s about searching for a connection with someone when they’re going through something hard and you just want to be there for them, to be a safe space for them.”
After a career of playing in bands and collaborating with other artists, Headspace EP is Jones’ first ever solo release. This new creative process allowed the talented singer-songwriter to channel his deepest emotions, developing a vulnerable body of work while exploring a more diverse sound palette. The result is a personal journey through hedonism, love, loss and the pain of growing up, all echoed by Jones’ honest vocals.
