It has been said by many that 2012 was the year that EDM truly took over and went mainstream, and Forbes annual “30 Under 30″ list certainly drove that point home. Grammy nominees and winners Skrillex, Calvin Harris, and Avicii have all managed to make the list this year, which is considered a collection of “young disruptors, innovators, and entrepreneurs…impatient to change the world.” The EDM heavyweights newest honors put them in the same ranking as the likes of pop superstars Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, One Direction, Bruno Mars, and Ke$ha, along with R&B/rap/hip-hop moguls Wiz Khalifa, Mac Miller, and Frank Ocean. Only time will tell where these talented artists will go, but we have no doubt that they will all be in the spotlight and changing the world for a long time to come. You can check out the full list of musicians along with other top lists here.
