Two steps forward and a’one step back
I can’t keep going on like that
Cuz it’s all the same
Yeah it’s all the same
I don’t wanna another piece of me
To be taken by your insecurity
Cuz its all the same
Yeah its all the same
No I don’t have nothing left
Cuz I gave you my last breath
And I can’t hold on to what we’ve could’ve been
I know you are getting over someone
This won’t work cuz I’m not her and
I won’t let my love be wasted on a fool, just to be with
I know you are getting over someone
This won’t work cuz I’m not her and
I won’t let my love be wasted on a fool, just to be with you
You still hold onto things she said
And you bring those words into our bed
And I feel you pain
But I won’t take the blame
And I don’t have nothing left
Cuz I gave you my last breath
And I can’t hold on to what we’ve could’ve been
I know you are getting over someone
This won’t work cuz I’m not her and
I won’t let my love be wasted on a fool, just to be with
I know you are getting over someone
This won’t work cuz I’m not her and
I won’t let my love be wasted on a fool, just to be with you
Dance music producer, Manuel Riva teams up with UK singer-songwriter, Kelli-Leigh on the collaborative new single, “Just to Be with You”. The emotionally charged ballad showcases Kelli-Leigh’s raw talent as a singer as she tells the story of a romance on the brink of break-up, and moving on to better things.
A slight change in style from the usual deep-house productions of Manuel Riva, the single builds upon a sparse acoustic production into hard-hitting drums and synths. Equal parts heart-breaking and empowering, the single blurs the line between contemporary pop and electronic music, with Riva’s production perfectly backing Kelli-Leigh’s passionate vocals.
