Maddox Jones teams up with Australian DJ Duo Bombs Away for a remix of his latest single “Can’t Wait for the Summer”

UK singer-songwriter, Maddox Jones is bringing some much-needed optimism to listeners this Spring with his latest single, “Can’t Wait for the Summer”. Released on April 16th the new track hit #1 on iTunes UK Singer/songwriter chart with strong feedback from UK and BBC Radio. Maddox recently followed up the release with special stripped-down acoustic version of the song.

After delivering a remix of Maddox’s debut single “Headspace” in 2020, ARIA award nominated multi-platinum selling DJs Bombs Away have teamed up with the singer-songwriter again to deliver another scorcher of a remix. With their new mix of “Can’t Wait for the Summer” the Australian duo transform Maddox’s heartfelt pop number into a full club banger perfect for the upcoming summer nights.

“I wrote “Can’t Wait For The Summer” in February of this year. I was moving house and I found an old 8 track recorder that I used to record with. It made me think of simpler times, spending days writing music and getting lost in romance. I wanted to write a song without limits, a song where my imagination could go anywhere. The song is about the ultimate romance; images of people dancing in the streets, fairgrounds, weddings, afternoons spent listening to Taylor Swift and drinking wine.”

Formerly the front man of lauded indie-rock outfit The Departure, Maddox Jones made his solo debut in 2020 with his EP, Headspace. Receiving praise from the likes of SPIN, American Songwriter, BBC, Record Of The Day and iHeart Radio the EP climbed to #4 on the iTunes UK Singer/songwriter albums chart. The title track and lead single also rose to #11 in the Music Week commercial pop club charts.

Bombs Away have been releasing music with Radikal since their breakout in 2010. Most recently they released the dark electro-house single “Love Magic”, and a reimagined take on Des’ree’s 90’s hit “You Gotta Be”, the latter of which broke onto the Billboard Dance charts. In 2020 the DJs also collaborated with RIP Youth on their debut single “You Love”.
