Dzham – I’m From Russia
Hailing from Moscow, Dzham is one of the biggest hip hop stars of the Eastern Bloc. After 4 albums released in his native tongue, he’s now got his sights set on the UK, Europe, and the rest of the world, and will be loudly announcing his arrival with the tongue-in-cheek, self-explanatory track entitled I’m From Russia.
With a self-deprecating lyrical flow and highly amusing video, I’m From Russia is an introductory release that leaves little room for misunderstanding. An astute observer of his environment, Dzham’s music tends to reflect both the good and the bad sides of the Russian way of life: dark suburbs and luxury clubs, family problems and criminal atmosphere. All of this has influenced him to become a rap artist whose poetry is based on the things that surround him every day. Dzham is a hip hop artist who can and has covered serious subject matter, but as this release indicates, he’s also fully prepared to have some fun.
