Salt Ashes Premieres Beetlejuice-inspired “Go All Out” Music Video

“Go All Out” music video premieres on Roton Music’s YouTube channel

London-based electronic pop artist Salt Ashes has released her boldest music video yet- this time, for her latest single “Go All Out”. Inspired by the 1988 Tim Burton cult classic Beetlejuice, the songstress has enlisted the visual direction of Lucrecia Taormina (known for her work with Little Boots & Cuckoolander), Bobbie Cousins (Women On The Verge, Misfits) and styling by Magdalene Celeste to help bring her vision to life.  The music video premiered today on Romanian record label Roton Music’s YouTube channel.

Speaking of the video, Salt Ashes says:

“Being one of my favourite films I was instantly drawn in and could see that Lucrecia understood and shares my vision for pushing visual boundaries and taking risks. Lucrecia comes from a fashion photographic background so her attention to detail and approach at composing each scene is flawless. It was awesome working with her and the incredible team we had on this.”

“Go All Out” is the second single this year from Salt Ashes following her empowering single “Girls” in May. She has been signed to a worldwide deal on Radikal Records since 2014, who released Salt Ashes’ debut self-titled LP in 2016. With stamps of approval from tastemakers such as MTV, Billboard, Noisey, The Guardian, Daily Mail, Popjustice, Wonderland and BBC Radio 1 & 1Xtra as well as opening for artists such as Tove Styrke, Say Lou Lou, Nimmo, Bright Light Bright Light and 80s pop sensation Tiffany, Salt Ashes has clearly been defined as an Artist To Watch.

Speaking of the track, Salt Ashes says:

“I totally lost myself in a long term relationship and after we broke up, I spent a year battling with who I was and learnt how to love me again, which is when I wrote this song. I realised how hard I had become over the years, constantly putting restrictions on myself and shrinking to try and fit in all the time. I’d forgotten how to have fun, explore, be adventurous and happy with myself. It made me wonder what external aspects of my life contributed to where I had ended up which made me see how I’d been sucked into media bullshit.

From a young age we are constantly encouraged by the media to criticise and compare our bodies, looks and weight with unrealistic images of photoshopped people and we become conditioned to believe that’s the norm and that you are unattractive or won’t get anywhere unless you look that way. So it made me think about what I would say to my younger self to help her feel empowered and accepting of who she is without the need for other people’s approval.”
