Record of the Day Features Salt Ashes’ New Single “Wilderness”

Last Friday, August 25th electronic singer-songwriter Salt Ashes unveiled her music video for her new single “Wilderness.” The music video was premiered on Clash Magazine. “Wilderness” has now been featured on UK discovery site, Record of the Day. Brighton-based Salt Ashes is an artist that we have supported for some time now since she first impressed us with L.O.V. Anxiety as an unsigned act over four years ago. Last year, we featured the lead track, Save It, from her self-titled debut album on US label Radikal Records. Having gained tastemaker support from the BBC, Billboard, MTV, Idolator and many more, she is now releasing one of the standout tracks from the album and it looks set to take her to deserved mainstream attention. With a deliciously deviant beat and hook, Wilderness draws influences from the dark disco pioneer Giorgio Moroder, the pop noir of Depeche Mode and the anthemic production of Calvin Harris. Filmed in the Portuguese city of Faro, the video premiered on Clash last Friday and perfectly captures the intoxicating essence of the song as it follows the reckless and tumultuous relationship of a madly in love couple. Seductively sublime.

“Wilderness” fits perfectly in to Salt Ashes eponymous debut album, as the album takes listeners on a journey through love, loss, heartbreak, finding and losing yourself. When asked about the meaning behind the single, Salt Ashes stated, “Wilderness is about only needing love to fulfill you, the kind of love that is crazy, reckless and all consuming. It’s about not holding back and having no regrets.”

“Wilderness” can be found on Salt Ashes eponymous album, which is available for purchase in record stores nationwide, on AmazoniTunesBandcampGoogle Play, and in the Radikal Records web-store. It is also available for streaming on Spotify.
