The Powerpuff Girls inspired video for Ayah Marar’s single “Go Hard” was recently released, and it didn’t take long before blog coverage came about. Music blog, Masterbeaters featured the video and also did a nice review of the track as well. You can read the review and check out the video below. Check out the original post on Masterbeaters here.
Ayah isn’t one to shy away from her love for the club and admits that raving is engraved in her soul. ‘Go Hard’ pays homage to her dance floor roots and it’s bashy, bold nature oozes with the Jordan girls infectious attitude. Featuring close friend and fellow tour companion ‘Illaman’, ‘Go Hard’ is packed with buoyant percussion and a sensually smooth bassline.
To say Ms Marar has been busy would be an understatement. Since the start of the year Ayah’s been awarded ‘Best Female’ at The National Drum & Bass Awards, she’s started her own show on BBC Radio 1xtra, toured and if all that wasn’t enough Ayah still finds time to run her own label, ‘Hussle Girl’ which continues to open doors for new, aspiring artists.
Ayah has been enjoying the incredible response to her album track with Calvin Harris – ‘Thinking About You’, which went to #1 in the Hype Machine last year. Ayah and Calvin’s friendship can be traced far back and their fans will be extremely excited to hear that they’re getting back in the studio together very soon.
Oh, to be able to party with Bombs Away…we’re so jealous of everyone at Platinum Nightclub this past week, as they got to do that AND party with the Stafford Brothers! The video was originally posted via twitter by Bombs Away, along with a statement about how they didn’t remember any of it! We can only guess how insane the party got if that’s the case, but we think this video somewhat does it justice. Check it out!
Superstar DJ Calvin Harris is never one to follow the trends of others, and it certainly shows in his new video for “Drinking From The Bottle,” that explores the seedy underbelly of Los Angeles, where drugs, prostitution, and violence run rampant. On top of showing the shocking truth behind the glitz and glamor of Hollywood, the video stars none other than the Devil himself, who, in between setting people on fire, smoking marijuana, and drunk driving, is galavanting around tinseltown with strippers and the homeless. No doubt that this fact alone will stir up quite a bit of controversy, but in our humble opinion, it is a refreshing wake-up call from other popular music videos, even if it does push limits. Check it out above, and let us know what you think!
Have you heard of Al Walser? No? If you have it’s probably because he’s been all over the music blogs since he was nominated for a Grammy. In fact we posted about him last week. Here is a little overview and update so far.
His song, “I Can’t Live Without You” was nominated for “Best Dance Music Recording” alongside artists like Skrillex, Swedish House Mafia, Avicii and Calvin Harris. The world of music blogs is in a sort of shock and awe over this extremely random nomination.
Yahoo music refers to the song as “an effort that’s not quite Rebecca Black-level terrible, but pretty close in terms of, well, not exactly making the professional grade.” House.net stated, “Certainly, it is difficult to believe that Al Walser’s single was legitimately nominated for the award in question, particularly when one actually listens to it.”
It’s hard not to feel embarrassed for Al Walser because this song is so bad! So bad in fact, we have to share it with you, again!
Here is the additional information. Strangely enough, there is also a video on YouTube of Deadmau5’s Joel Zimmerman reacting to Al Walser’s nomination that was posted under the user name “Al Walser.” It’s hard to tell if Zimmerman is angry, sarcastic or actually doesn’t care at all. Check it out for yourself.
As they say, any publicity is good publicity, what do you think?
