Salt Ashes’ “If You Let Me Go” Featured On BBC1 Radio by Phil Taggart

If you missed it last night, Phil Taggart over at BBC1 Radio featured Salt Ashes‘ follow-up single “If You Let Me Go” on his evening radio show after discovering the song via a fan on Twitter. You can stream the live broadcast on their website here. Here’s what Phil had to say when presenting the record: “Apparently that track was made by sleeping on floors in New York, Ibiza and Berlin. If that’s the quality of a track sleeping on people’s floors, imagine if she had a week in the studio…bit of Kate Bush in there…loving it!’”

Salt Ashes’ “If You Let Me Go” Premiered On IndieShuffle.com

Salt Ashes - If You Let Me GoiTunes

Today marks the worldwide release date for Salt Ashes’ follow up single “If You Let Me Go” and our friends at Indie Shuffle loved the record so much that they happily premiered it for us! Here’s what they had to say about it:

Salt Ashes’ newest single has a very uplifting quality. That is exactly what we all need today, being that it’s a Monday. Does anyone really like Mondays? (Rhetorical question.)

We hear some cool stories how songs were written, but while sleeping on floors between Ibiza, New York, and Berlin is a rarity. The quality of this track makes me question that statement. If it is true, and Salt Ashes keeps putting out hits like this, she won’t be sleeping on floors too long.

“If You Let Me Go” combines a bright disco style with some darker melodies, and is the perfect end of summer anthem. I almost feel wrong for saying this, but the ending riff that coincides with the drums is my favorite part. You’re probably thinking that is an odd thing to point out, but it really adds a lot of replay value to me. This song will be on repeat all day for me!

Salt Ashes Interviews With Hot Band Girls

HotBandGirls

HotBandGirls had a chance to catch up with Salt Ashes to discuss her sexy music video for her latest release “Somebody,” the inspiration behind her song, and the challenges that come with being a women in the music industry. You can read an excerpt of the interview below, and read the full article here. Make sure you purchase “Somebody” on iTunes today!

-You have just started out in the music scene as Salt Ashes, what is the message you want to convey to the world as an artist?
Right now, I am just sharing pieces of my mind and heart little by little for listeners to take what they want from it. If my music brings any kind of strong emotion out in somebody then I am always winning.

-Did you face any challenges when writing your latest single, “Somebody”?
This was actually one of those ones that came out in an evening…. I did some fine tuning later but the best part of it flew out of me pretty quickly. This definitely doesn’t happen all the time though, that would be a dream. Usually my best writing happens fast for some reason which is annoying when you’ve spent ages pouring blood and tears into a song and then it’s not good at all.

-How did you come up with the concept behind your video to “Somebody”?
I always had the idea of two bare bodies up close and personal, expressing their angst, passion and hate all at the same time. That’s essentially the essence of the song; Strong, erratic feelings. …  I wanted to portray intensity and there’s nothing better than stripping everything down to its purity and getting intense.

Notable Dance Picks Salt Ashes As Song Of The Day

Notable Dance

Shout out to our friends at Notable Dance whom picked Salt Ashes’ “Somebody” as their track of the day! Here’s what DJ Ron Slomowicz had to say about the single:

“Imagine Kate Bush doing a dark synth-pop cover of Depeche Mode’s “Black Celebration,” and you have the initial buzz single of Veiga Sanchez (a/k/a Salt Ashes). For the “official” debut comes “Somebody,” a slick-yet-moody downtempo electronic record with the feel of a New Order side project – maybe Revenge or Electronic. The comparisons to Kate Bush are obvious, but there’s a hint of a Natalia Kills noir in there that gives it an even darker, angelic vibe. While not exactly club-ready, the Cruelty remix adds a new beat with a kind of RAC-meets-DFA vibe. With her unique and ethereal (yet powerful) voice, I imagine that there will be some strong DJ/Producer collabs coming soon.”
