From collaborations with Men At Work on chart smashing tunes residing in DJ’s playlists globally, to festival bills nationally- music devotees know exactly who Sam is.

The last decade and beyond has proven an epic emprise for Sam, bringing to the surface a radiating talent that can only be shared musically while also claiming 2012’s Music Oz Independent DJ of The Year. Taking sound inspiration from Axwell, Nicky Romero, Hardwell and local champion Tommy Trash, the tunes to leave the studio are evident of a burning desire to share a beat without exception.

With releases via Sweden’s Stoneyboy Records, Radikal Records in the USA and local sky liners Sony, Universal, Onelove, Ministry of Sound, the I Am Sam brand is without a doubt ripping charts apart. From Zoe Badwi’s ‘Freefallin’ remix at #1 on ARIA Club Charts and #15 on UK Club Charts to the top spot on the Beatport Chillout Charts collaborating with Unclubbed on ‘Need To Feel’, artists are ravenous for the studio skills from I Am Sam. Charting high on the ARIA ladder was original with Sarah McLeod ‘The Real Thing’ hitting #6 while grabbing thundering media attention and MTV Club Hits Chart love too. Gaining much support recently, saw ‘Sunlight’ featuring Michelangelo signed to the USA’s Radikal bumping to the ARIA Club Chart 11th spot. With the release, notably acclaimed that I Am Sam is only just warming up, so watch closely!

2013 has taken Sam’s prestige to the next level, starting the year off with a thrill at Future Music Festival and backing it up with a round of shows throughout Miami at Mansion and Catalina during Music Week scoring him ovations from artists far and wide. Stonebridge notably mentioned him as an ‘honest and hungry producer’ awakening further a sustained drive for the music. Across Australia I Am Sam is never coy of presence at Sydney’s Ivy, East Broadbeach and Fusion Melbourne. It’s at shows likes these, the favored opportunity to support Calvin Harris, Nervo and Pete Tong has risen. The future behind the decks is ablaze.

So just in case you didn’t catch it- this is I Am Sam.

Antoine Becks

Antoine Becks

Los Angeles-based Antoine Becks might be a new name for some, but his music has been resonating in the dance world for over a decade. With his previous live act, Second Sun, he has performed in some of the biggest clubs and festivals worldwide. Antoine is the voice of such global dance hits as Sharam’s “Party All The Time” and featured in Paul Van Dyk’s track “Crush”, which Antoine also wrote and produced. This song appeared on the Grammy-nominated album, Reflections.

As a producer, he has releases with all the top dance labels: two full albums, two EPs, a slew of big remixes including Queen’s “Another one Bites the Dust” appearing as The Miami Project. In the past year, Antoine went on the road DJing alongside percussionist Shannon Leto, the drummer of platinum-selling rock band Thirty Seconds To Mars. He spent the rest of 2012 in the studio writing and “Life of the Wild” is the first track to be released. Antoine is now performing solo DJ shows–rocking clubs and festivals worldwide. Antoine elaborates, “This is what I live for. Going from making music in the studio, which is very cerebral and personal, to exploding on stage and sharing pure energy with the crowd”. He smiles, “I’m very serious about my party music.”

He is one of the only international DJs who also performs live vocals, creating epic live moments at every show. “Antoine’s utter enthusiasm gets your feet off the floor. Electrifying, unpredictable and energizing,” details REMIX magazine. During his career, he’s packed the world’s best club venues: Pacha (New York), Mansion (Miami), Congress Theatre (Chicago), Guvernment (Toronto), Avalon (Los Angeles), Glow (Washington, D.C.), Foro Alterno (Guadalajara, Mexico), Gia (Quito, Ecuador), Loft (Lisbon), Gaudi Arena (Moscow), Passage (Vienna), Karma (Milan), Godskitchen (UK), Privilege (Ibiza), and the list goes on.

Antoine is no stranger to massive main-stage festival crowds either. Having played numerous festivals including EDC (US), Nocturnal Wonderland (US), Ultra Music Festival (US), Electric Zoo (US), Bal en Blanc (Canada), Global Gathering (UK), Gatecrasher Summer Soundsystem (UK), Planet Love (Ireland), South American Music Conference (Argentina), Summerland (Colombia) and Beatpatrol (Austria), this true showman thrives in front of large crowds. His rapidly growing fan base follows his every move calling themselves the “Becksters”. When not on tour, this classically-trained multi-instrumentalist spends countless hours in the studio crafting his future anthems. These dance floor bangers are now ready to be heard, with the newly released “Life of the Wild” and next up is “Insane” to be released April 18 on Diplo’s label Mad Decent, a track already supported by Tiesto and played on his Club Life podcast. Expect big things from Antoine Becks in 2013.

Double the madness, double the talent, double the tunes. Sydney born and bred twins Gemellini are quite the duo to be singled out taking only one year for these talented young guns to realize the extremity of their musical potential. As a budding DJ and producer pair, inspired by heated magnates like Axwell, Eric Prydz, Hardwell, and duo Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano-house music lives in their soul proving it takes a little bit more than just the ear to know what’s musically right.

The last year has been a cyclonic promenade for Andrea and Davide, taking the upmost opportunities and turning them into the most rewarding experiences. With a bona fide love and passion for dance music, these two dedicated twins begun to show Sydney and not too far behind- the rest of Australia- exactly what they had in store. Taking part in Australian Your Shot DJ Competition set the pace, putting their seamless DJ skills to the test amongst other fresh talent. With a passion for lifting people from their seats, Andrea and Davide took the competition by storm landing them a phenomenal 1st place. This was only the beginning.

Gaining recognition in Australia for the musical talent these twins exurb was one thing with an impressive signing with dance guru label-Central Station Records. It wasn’t long till the spinning globe stopped at their location with Canadian label Monstercat and German Label Shah Music getting in on the action. Monstercat for one saw the incredible track ‘Crazy’ with Project 46 take a spot in the top 25 Progressive chart on Beatport while standing proud on the label’s ‘Identity’ compilation jumping to #2 on iTunes electronic album chart. Gemellini were there to stay and there was no turning back after such success on their debut track. With acknowledgement from a display of artists like Tristan Garner, this duo’s elders love the progression in such a young talent.

Ida Corr

ida corr

In 2007 singer Ida Corr conquered dance floors and charts all over the world with her single “Let Me Think About It”, remixed by Fedde Le Grand. It became the most successful single of a Danish artist after Aqua and Infernal. Most people know her probably for this big hit. But how did it start with Ida’s career?

Ida Corr was born to a Danish mother and a Gambian father in Aarhus, the second largest town of Denmark. She was raised in a home filled with music. Her father – a musician – jammed a lot with his friends. She started out drumming at six, formed her own band at nine, performing soul classics by James Brown and Aretha Franklin on the streets of Aarhus. At the age of eleven her band won the very first National Danish Radio Song contest for Children.

From then on there was no other path for Ida Corr than the path of music. Over the next years she developed her singing talent and built up her career as a performer, by becoming one of the most popular backing vocals in Danish music.

Gromee is a music producer living in Cracow. He releases his own tracks, as well as remixes other artists – more or less widely known. He also takes part in some other music projects. Gromee does not limit himself to one style of music. Although his club music tracks are most often played on the radio, he also produces sounds which could be classified as progressive music, soul, hip-hop, jazz or film music.

In his music production process, he cooperates with composers, vocalists, and sound engineers from all over the world. Gromee could be called a renaissance man. He is not only into music, but also painting and poetry.

In this media-saturated age, it seems that anyone can be a pop star. But that doesn’t qualify anyone to be a great pop star. And as Kamaliya is not just a singer but also an actress and model, this Ukrainian superstar is the real deal, with a sensational voice; a singer who also plays the violin and writes her own songs. And as for that voice, as Kamaliya says herself, she’s comparable to Sarah Brightman’s operatic voice, Britney Spears’ pop singing and Celine Dion’s balladeering. Beauty might be skin deep but talent and charisma go a long way.

After becoming a household name in the Ukraine and across the Russian Federation, Kamaliya is ready to make a similar mark on the UK and the rest of Western Europe. Released in December 2011, her UK debut single “Crazy In My Heart” is a slice of giddily exciting trance-dance, produced by South East London duo Digital Dog, the go-to producers for top dance artists such as Armand Van Helden, Kelis and Cascada. With Kamaliya’s phenomenally pure, classically-trained voice matching the tidal waves of synths, the effect is euphoric, and so is her next single “Rising Up” (mixes by The Soulseekers and Cahill). With the third single, “Arrhythmia” (mixes by Mike Rizzo, WideBoys and Stonebridge) preceding her UK debut album, Kamaliya will be well on her way to making a big splash here. But she has already come so far…

Born Natalya Shmarenkova in a district of Eastern Siberia, Kamaliya was only three when her military father was deployed to Budapest. As a child, she was already singing and performing: “I got so involved, I couldn’t imagine myself anywhere else,” she says. After her family moved to Lviv in Western Ukraine, she studied the violin and sang opera while writing her own music before getting her first break with the Ukrainian folk group “Galytska Perlyna”. Top spots in national singing competitions followed through her teenage years – as well as acting and directing shows while studying at Lviv University — but the one victory that truly counted was the National Hit Parade’s Song of the Year for “Love You”.

The track can be found on her 1999 album Is It Love, which followed her first album, Techno Style 1997, recorded in, yes, 1997. Year Of The Queen and Kamaliya, With Love are her other two albums to date, which shows that Kamaliya’s version of pop is an interesting mutation of ‘techno style’ (pop-dance) with folk, power ballads and opera. While she has recorded up to 80 songs, Kamaliya has continued to reap awards, such as ‘Honored Artist of Ukraine’ for outstanding achievements in developing Ukrainian culture, and in 2008, the culmination of a number of beauty pageant triumphs by winning the Mrs World contest. She’s also done extensive charity work – in February, Kamaliya has been invited to perform at the high society WSPA event (World Society for the Protection of Animals), other artists invited are: Bryan Adams and Leona Lewis. And there’s also a blossoming acting career that’s already taken her to Hollywood.

After a handful of Russian films (including rom-com Husband Of My Widow, the tele-movie Million Up To Sky, for which she won a Best Supporting Role award, and the sci-fi drama Mantera), America called. In 2012 Kamaliya is starring in What About Love, playing the Russian wife of the US ambassador in Romania, with Sharon Stone & Andy Garcia in the cast. But Kamaliya’s music is also making waves in Hollywood: she not only appears in the new thriller Officer Down (Stephen Dorff and James Woods are among the starry cast), releasing world-wide in early 2012, but “Arrythmia” is on the soundtrack. Two other big movies the astronaut Yuri Gagarin bio-pic “Gagarin” and another rom-com “Legal Affairs” are the other two Hollywood movies planned to be shot in 2012.

Back in Russia, she’s finished filming a TV comedy, Fathers & Sons where she plays the lead.

Kamaliya has overcome lymph node cancer (her family lived in the zone affected by the radioactive fall-out from the Chernobyl disaster). And she finds the room in her life for eight dogs, two rabbits, three cats, three parrots and five horses – not forgetting her husband, British-Pakistani publisher Mohammad Zahoor. And there’s always the modelling assignments (her favourite designers include Jenny Packham, Hervé Léger, Karl Lagerfeld, Roberto Cavalli and the late Alexander McQueen), as well as live concerts: in the last year alone, Kamaliya has been on stage over 50 times, adding dance to the ever-growing list of talents. The combination of music and fashion has made Kamaliya a household name in the Ukraine. A superstar, in fact. And a fantastic pop star.

A tour in February of the top UK clubs will show the rest of the world what the Ukraine & Russia already know. Because right now, it’s not fashion or films that matter most, but Kamaliya’s new musical focus on dance music. She is an unabashed romantic – her all-time favourite song is Andrea Bocelli’s “Time To Say Goodbye” and she loves to tackle the classics – her belting version of “We Are The Champions” would even upstage Freddie. She admits her prime influences have been La Whitney, La Celine and La Brightman, and drama will always be part of her music and her appeal. But the lady that Kamaliya wants to take on is none other than Lady Gaga. Expect emotion-drenched dance music – sassy, sensual and sophisticated in equal measure. And with her formidable achievements back home, across multiple styles of music and beyond, you wouldn’t bet against Kamaliya going all the way.

Drums Of London

drums of london

Drums Of London are a hot new production duo from the UK that aims to bridge the gap between their urban music roots and mainstream dance. Their first offering, “Girls Girls Girls,” is a creative reinterpretation of the classic UK Top 10 Hit single from 70s British pop group, Sailor. The original mixes of the new dance version were released last year in the UK with some exciting success: number 1 on the Dj Tunes Top 100, getting radio support on Scott Mill’s Drivetime on BBC Radio 1 and landing on the Abercrombie and Fitch 2012 Summer US In-Store Playlist.
