Cosmic Gate are DJs / producers Nic
Chagall and Stefan Bossems (DJ Bossi). They met in 1997 while
working for X-IT Records in Germany and collaborated on projects
such as Me & Mr. Jones, DJ Bossi, John B Norman and Strings Of
Harmony.
In 1999, they recorded their first Cosmic Gate track - The Drums. It
became an instant club smash and made it into the German Pop Top 40.
The following year, they had two more successful singles - Mental
Atmosphere and Somewhere Over The Rainbow - the latter reaching the
German Top 30.
Fire Wire, their current single was originally released in Germany
earlier this year. It has since gone on to become a #1 club hit
across Europe and a Top 15 Pop hit in Germany. Ministry recently
released the track in the UK to much success - a Top 10 UK Pop
record. Fire Wire is a hard, intense track. Combining pounding
techno with a strangely vocoded vocal sample and burning synth
strings. It creates a compelling dark sonic atmosphere. |
