Born in Frankfurt am Main in 1971,
Piet Blank learned piano, saxophone and drums as a teenager and
decided to earn his living with music. After giving up his music
studies after only one semester, he went on to study business
economics "so that record companies and the like would be
interested". To finance his studies, Piet worked at a record store
and as a DJ in various clubs in Frankfurt. His passion for
electronic dance music was initially sparked during his long stay in
New York. During the day he worked in a trendy record store on
Bleeker Street and in the evenings he would play Frankfurt trance in
warehouses down by the docks. Back in Cologne, Piet became the
regular Party Service DJ at Eins Live Radio and can still be heard
there every Saturday from 8pm - 5am.
Rene Runge aka Jaspa Jones was born in 1968 in Monchengladbach on
the Lower Rhein. He also knew very early on that he wanted to earn a
living with music. When the first big techno wave came in 1989, Rene
was the resident DJ in the legendary Dusseldorf club Ratinger Hof
and made sure that Techno was heard. He supported his positions as a
Techno pioneer with various other club residencies.
In 1993, Rene produced his first record on Tall 2XLC's label Suck Me
Plasma under the pseudonym Jaspa Jones. Since then, he has recorded
under that name for numerous major labels and has done remixes for
RMB, Taucher, U96, and NBG, just to name a few. He has also
constructed his own recording studio - the Spacedust Studio in
Dusseldorf, Germany where all Blank and Jones productions are
created.
Cream is their debut single on Radikal Records. Ultra smooth and
creamy trance with mixes by ATB and Paul Van Dyk. It reached #1 on
the German Club Charts and # 30 on the UK Pop Charts. It's available
in the USA on CD Maxi and 12" Vinyl single. |
