With the original mixes currently at #5 on the Billboard Dance/Club chart, “Shelter Me” by Lee Dagger, featuring Inaya Day, now receives a nu-disco remix treatment by UK producer Fridholm (better known as Cruelty for his darker electronic works) who has also produced for Salt Ashes and her latest tracks “Somebody” and “If You Let Me Go.”
“Shelter Me” was born after a chance meeting on a dance floor between Inaya Day and Lee Dagger at ADE in 2013. DJ Chris Cox and Lee Dagger ventured to the DEF MIX party to see the late great Frankie Knuckles, David Morales and Hector Romero spin. After spending the next 6 hours on the dance floor with house legends, Crystal Waters, Duane Harden, Ultra Nate and Chris Willis, Lee Dagger and Inaya Day, hit it off, and as soon as they touched down in London, they hit the studio and wrote “Shelter Me.”

Today marks the worldwide release date for Salt Ashes’ follow up single “If You Let Me Go” and our friends at Indie Shuffle loved the record so much that they happily premiered it for us! Here’s what they had to say about it:
Salt Ashes’ newest single has a very uplifting quality. That is exactly what we all need today, being that it’s a Monday. Does anyone really like Mondays? (Rhetorical question.)
We hear some cool stories how songs were written, but while sleeping on floors between Ibiza, New York, and Berlin is a rarity. The quality of this track makes me question that statement. If it is true, and Salt Ashes keeps putting out hits like this, she won’t be sleeping on floors too long.
“If You Let Me Go” combines a bright disco style with some darker melodies, and is the perfect end of summer anthem. I almost feel wrong for saying this, but the ending riff that coincides with the drums is my favorite part. You’re probably thinking that is an odd thing to point out, but it really adds a lot of replay value to me. This song will be on repeat all day for me!

Emerging singer Salt Ashes, aka 22 year old Veiga Sanchez, will release her second single ‘If You Let Me Go’ September 2nd. Written and produced while sleeping on floors between Ibiza, New York and Berlin, it takes in her love for epic electronic grooves and melancholy drenched melodies with a nod to early eighties Madonna and the New York club scene. Obsessed with Giorgio Moroder’s blend of disco and epic dark atmospheres, the Brighton based songstress first sprang to attention with her inspired cover of Depeche Mode’s ‘Black Celebration’. In March this year she released her debut single ‘Somebody’, an elegant synth pop excursion that received rave reviews and created a real buzz about this super talented newcomer.
This summer Salt Ashes played some key festivals including The Great Escape and Glastonbury and she’s gearing up for shows in London and Brighton in September, to be announced!

Mountain Dew’s very own lifestyle blog Green Label, which is also a part of Complex media, recently posted their top 10 Future Stars Of EDM, and they had the honor of featuring Queen of Bass Ayah Marar amongst names such as Martin Garrix, DJ Sliink, RL Grime, GTA, Duke Dumont and more! The reason as to why they picked Ayah as 1 of their top 10 future star, is not because of her high profile collaborations with Calvin Harris, or her upcoming single with Nervo and R3hab, but her own solo project “The Real,” and the stand out track “Mind Controller.” Read below what they had to say about Ayah, and check out the complete list here:
Everyone has to start from somewhere, and it would be hard to start your career in a better place than Ayah Marar did. In 2004, she began working with uber-producer Calvin Harris and since then, has supplied the vocals to a huge number of his songs, most notably the smash hit “Thinking About You.” However, Marar is far more than Harris’s sidekick. Born and raised in Jordan and then living in the U.K., Marar brings a distinctly international sound to the scene that has allowed her to tour across the world, as well as hold down DJ gigs and residencies. It’s her own solo album The Real, though, which put her on this list. The Real is a project that proves she’s an artist who has something to say and knows how to have a good time. Sounds like a formula for success to us.

Shout out to Stereotude for featuring Ayah Marar on their First Slice feature! Check out the feature above, and read below what they had to say:
Ayah Marar is HUGE in the UK. She’s a singer, a songwriter, and an all-around badass chick. We’re calling it now—she’s on the brink of stardom in the US.
She wrote and recorded on Calvin Harris’ 18 Months album, and recently premiered a collaboration with R3hab and Nervo titled “Waiting for the Weekend” at Tomorrowland.
And if you haven’t already, check out Ayah’s debut album The Real available on iTunes and Beatport!
