My People is one of
those sticky dance / trance tracks that stay in your head for hours or
days after you hear it. Combining strong lyrics with a very catchy hook,
it has pop smash written all over it.
My People was produced by Jaco Van Rijswijk. Jaco was
one half of Natural Born Grooves who had club hits with the tracks Forerunner
and Groovebird. Under his alias Casino, he also had a
club hit in France with Get Funky. In addition, he has also
done alot of remix work, including projects for 2 Unlimited, Sash,
Faithless, Chicane and many more mainstream projects.
The vocals on My People are by Terry Bjerre. Terry
has also done vocals for the 2 Eivissa projects and most recently
supplied the vocals for Avantgarde. Both 2 Eivissa and Avantgarde
were chart hits all across Europe.
The Shrink, who have had their own success with 2nd Opinion
and Nervous Breakdown, give their own interpretation of My
People with their floor-filling energy booster mix.
Combining the talents of all involved, it is definitely a formula for a
successful new project.
