Doctorolive was born in Paris, grew up in Normandy, and now lives with one foot in France and the other in Brussels, a city he fell in love with years ago. He is a true pioneer and initiator of innovative music. His first two records, I'm Going To Heaven and Bass Scanner, were released through R & S Records in Ghent. After that, he went through a period of empty promises and fake record deals. However, instead of being discouraged, he used the time productively, and faced the challenge of creating a real album. Not only did he finish an album, be he refined and tuned the songs to perfection. They are presented here on this, his debut release, First Dee-Jay On The Moon.
Fasten your seat belts and prepare for lift-off. Doctorolive will navigate you through seventies porn-muzak, orchestral bombast, and dangerous electro-vibes. On this journey, you will witness dark basses copulating with metallic percussion and razor-sharp melodies.
Forty years of rock and roll, jazz, reggae, soul and pop lurk behind every dark corner, waiting to strike when you least expect it, lunging at you with a polite digital smile. Listen in amazement as phat stompin' breakbeats, drum and bass, and horny hip hop engage in a bizarre ritualist mating. Subtle composition skills and inventive obscure sampling insure that you will have a safe journey.
Doctorolive takes you to the moon, but a part of you will never return. There is no dark side of the moon really, it's all dark.
Electronica for a new generation.
