Long before the success of Meet Her At The Loveparade, Da Hool aka DJ Hooligan garnered huge accolades as one of the leaders of a musical movement that many aficionados refer to as the first generation of techno. Starting his DJ career in 1986 in a club in his hometown in Germany, DJ Hooligan quickly gained a massive following as a true turntable artist and innovator, merging the styles of techno, house, progressive, acid and trance during his jam-packed mixing sessions.
In 1990, Hooligan was named one of Germany's Top 8 DJs. That same year he began producing his own tracks, devoting his energy to the hardcore sound. One of the earliest records, B.O.T.T.R.O.P., was a massive club hit in Europe and solidified his production credentials. After a few years dominating the Gabber scene, Hooligan was ready for a stylistic shift toward a bit slower, more melodic sound and released It's A Dream Song in 1993.
At the peak of rave culture, you could be certain that there were no big events like Mayday, Rave City, Love Nation, Rave On Snow, Air Rave or Rave & Cruise without a set by him.
In 1996, at odds with his record label, DJ Hooligan founded his own label, B-Sides. Releasing records under the name Da Hool, one of the first B-Sides releases was Meet Her At The Loveparade. In 1997, the track was rereleased along with some remixes on Kosmo Records out of Germany. It went on to sell over 6 million units worldwide.
2001 brings more mixes of this classic club track, updating it just enough so it's ready for a 21st century crowd.
