The Alex Party project was launched in 1993 by producer brothers Paolo and Gianni Visnadi (of Livin' Joy fame) and DJ Alex Natale. Their first single was simply titled Alex Party (Read My Lips). It quickly became an Ibiza anthem, thus bringing it to the attention of the international scene and ultimately a huge success that summer.
While working on new tracks for the album in their Venice studio, the Visnadi's and Alex Natale realized the need to step beyond the confines of a studio. The importance to include a singer in the group became more and more apparent. They halted any further work in order to concentrate on finding the voice to fit the already established Alex Party sound. This they found in the guise of Shanie Campbell whose contribution has undoubtedly helped to elevate the project.

Their subsequent single Don't Give Me Your Life was the first work of the new line-up. The response was immediate. Systematic's then A & R Christian Tattersfield snapped up a record deal. It reached # 2 in the CIN charts and went on to win the top accolade in the Club Record category at Music Week's 1995 Awards.
Following Tattersfield's departure from Systematic and the demise of Alex Party's original record company, the members of the group decided to start production on a new single. The result is U Gotta Be, the first offering that incorporates an updated style yet retains the original Alex Party flavor.
