Rising singer Biagio combines the sounds of his Italian roots with modern dance for this fresh take on “Bella Ciao”. Produced by Radikal Records producer, Giuseppe D. the new single reinvents the classic Italian folk song that was adopted by the anti-fascist resistance movement during the Italian Civil War. Powered by his strong vocals, Biagio brings this classic folk song to a new generation of dance-floors.
“I love to remix and perform songs that I think will make people smile, dance and have fun singing along. This is how I came about redoing “Bella Ciao” and the beloved songs for my previous album, adding a few different elements to give it more energy, but yet keeping some of the original feel of the song that made them what they are.” – Biagio
Growing up in a traditional Italian household, the love of family, food and music was instilled in Blaise “Biagio” Benevenga at an early age. He began to take piano lessons and started performing at many family functions. Music became a big part of his life, and eventually he started an Italian/American band called The Vibrations, performing at weddings and dinner dances all over the Tri-State Area and eventually touring in Italy. He is becoming a festival, casino and nightclub favorite and recently signed with the boutique management and consultancy agency Nene Musik.
Throughout the years, “Bella Ciao” (“Goodbye beautiful”) has been sung in many different languages worldwide and continues to be used as an anti-fascist hymn of freedom and resistance. Most recently the song has been featured in the popular TV series from Spain, La Casa De Papel which rebooted its popularity.
